Back pain

Your back hurts.

Maybe you know why it hurts. Maybe you feel down and hurt yourself or you were in an auto accident. Maybe you thought you could help your friend move his couch all by himself and your back just hasn’t been the same since. If this is the case, your pain is the result of acute trauma, or a direct injury to part of the body. When this happens, it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible so your condition can be properly diagnosed and treated. Reducing inflammation, preventing scar tissue from forming instead of healthy tissue, maintaining strength and range of motion may help you reduce or eliminate your pain.

But what if you got hurt but didn’t seek medical attention and now your back is sore all the time? Or maybe you don’t know why it hurts. It’s always been a little uncomfortable for you stay in one position or to sit for long periods of time but it just seems to be getting worse and worse. Some back pain results from microtrauma, or tiny injuries within the body from overuse or incorrect use. This is why the trainer at the gym is always nagging you about having the right form when lifting weights – to prevent you from doing the exercise incorrectly and hurting yourself without meaning to. Dr. Jarrod Wilner also performs sports medicine to improve performance or rehabiliate injuries. Sitting at a desk for long hours or doing constant heavy lifting can cause back pain, as well as degenerative spinal problems such as slipped, or herniated discs.

Why it hurts probably isn’t as important to you as how to get the pain to go away. Dr. Jarrod Wilner will give you a thorough examination to properly diagnose your condition, assess how serious it is, and recommend treatment for your individual situation. Our first priority is to get you back to a place where you can live your life comfortably. Contact us to schedule a consultation or appointment today!
