Diversified technique is the most commonly used technique by doctors of chiropractic according to the American Chiropractic Association. It is also one of the most widely taught. It can be used to treat a variety of areas of the body including the spine as well as on extremeties. It is called the diversified technique because it takes the best, most effective and most efficient aspects of other treatments and puts them all together. This makes it useful to a variety of injuries and cases.
Diversified technique involves the manipulation and alignment of the spinal colulmn. It is done completely manually and is probably the treatment that most people who have visited a chiropractor are familiar with. No tools are used in the procedure. It involves small, quick thrusts to specific joints or areas after a thurough diagnosis. There may be some popping sounds which are completely normal. The technique is usually painless, although some people feel some slight discomfort immediately following the procedure. This inconveneince is usually worth it though, since it is a quick and effective way to reduce pain.
